Why do you need my e-mail address?
Without your valid e-mail address, we cannot send e-mail to you through the TGTBF.com system. It also allows registered friends to contact you, more than likely to say 'Thank You'.

Why haven't I received any e-mail from TGTBF.com?
You should receive a welcome e-mail when you place an entry, confirming your entries ID number. The most likely reason is that you have not provided us with your correct e-mail address. Please check Your Profile and make sure your e-mail details are correct (e-mail address found within your entry).

Different members can use the same email address providing the Login and Password are not the same.

This should not be a problem as your Login and Passwords should be different.

What do I do if I loose or forget my password?
Each time you need to enter your login or password you will find "Forgot Password". Simply click on it enter your e-mail (the one you registered with us) and your details will be e-mailed to you. Login and Password is only valid whilst Membership is valid.

Does TGTBF.com protect me from spamming?
Your e-mail address is never displayed, and only sent out in messages you send to people registered on the TGTBF.com system that you have chosen to contact.

Who can see my information on TGTBF.com?
Any user can see the details that you have entered (excluding your login, password and e-mail). Please do not enter your full address or telephone details anywhere on the site.

How can I remove all my details from the TGTBF.com website?
You can delete entries at any time. Just click the "Edit/Delete Entry" link on the entries page. Enter your entry ID number and password, select "Delete", and click on "Submit". You will need to do this for each entry you have placed.

Sometimes I receive an e-mail showing a new message entry has been placed relating to one of mine, yet when I look they are they not there. Why?
Mailing list informational e-mails are sent automatically by the TGTBF.com system. On occasions, people add themselves to the site and then decide, for whatever reason, to remove them. Being an automated system, this will still generate the e-mail.

Can I change the notes I have left?
You can change these at any time providing your registration is still valid. Just click "Edit/Delete Entry" within the entry page, enter your entry ID number and password, select "Edit", make the changes to your details and click on "Submit".

Can I change my registered e-mail address?
You can change your registered e-mail address at any time providing your registration is still valid. Just click the "Edit/Delete Entry" link on the entry page, enter your ID number and password, select "Edit", make the change and click on "Submit". Remember, your ID number can be found on your entry page should you not be able to find your welcome e-mail. Also remember if you have more than one entry, each entry will need to be changed.

Can I enter different messages against different entries?
Yes. Your message is relevant only to the entry from where you placed it. If you wish to add certain memories please add them against the relevant entry, Each entry is classed as a new entry.

My entry has a scroll bar along the bottom of the page, why?
Three possible reasons:
1. The Main Message and all Paragraphs are set to show text as it is typed.
Type your text as if you are using a typewriter, hit the return key (enter key on keypad) at the end of each line.
If you do not use the return key, the text will appear as one straight line.
Go to the edit link within the tribute, type your Id number and password
and you can make the alterations there.
Place your mouse at the end of each line of text, click (as if to add text) and hit the return key so it starts a new line.

2. You have edited the text 'Font Size' too high for the number of words in each line.
Alter the Font size within the edit section to 2 or even 1.

3. Another reason could be a photo you have uploaded is taking up more than 50%
of your screens width.
Resize your photo and within edit, upload it again ensuring
you upload in the appropiate photo field.
i.e. If third photo down in tribute upload to third photo field down etc.

I have replaced a photo using the edit system, but the old photo is still showing, why?
Replaced photos may not be viewable immediately by your computer. Netscape and IE use page caching to allow pages to load faster after the first visit. This is great, for the most part. However, it does restrict the immediate viewing of your replaced photos..
To view the updated version..
Open a new (2nd) window to TGTBF.com and then view the entry, this will show the updated version. You can then close the 1st window and your cache now remembers the latest version.

Do I have to keep putting my Id Number and Password to edit my entry?
Initially you do. However after viewing the edited entry you can use the 'Previous Page' button by clicking it twice (or three times if you had just uploaded photo's) to get you back to the edit page.
Make your alterations and click 'Submit' again. You can use this process several times until you are happy with your entry. Should clicking on the 'Previous Page' button take you to a 'This Page Has Timed Out' use your browsers back button to take you back to the edit page.
If the edit page has timed out too, use your browsers forward button to get you back to your entry and start over again (via the edit/Id number/Password).

The TGTBF.com system lets you to add your comments at the foot of an entries page, simply fill out the form and click submit.

Why did a message relating to my IP come up?
This will only occur should a banned word be entered within an entry.

Can I view all entries against a City or Country etc?
Yes, type the City, leave all search fields blank and click search. For just a Country Select the Country then search. You can search by any of the fields if you like by leaving the rest blank. The 'Died Aged' fields needs two entries a Min and a Max to work.

Why am I the only entry against a particular City/Country?
TGTBF.com only went live July 2002 and although many people are registering their details, TGTBF.com is still a very new site. It will only be a matter of time until someone places an entry.

How do I get in contact with someone I have found on TGTBF.com?
Within their entry is the "Contact 'whoever' by E-mail". Click on 'Privacy Mail' and type away. Note: Registration must be obtained to use this service. Registering for Text Only (Free) will allow you one contact.

Can I view another person's entry?
Yes. Click on their "Name" or "Folder" and if they have entered any notes they will then be displayed.

Why can I not edit notes against my friend's details?
Only the registered person is only allowed to edit their entry. You can leave your Comments by signing their Visitor Booke which will be automatically linked and shown when the 'View All Messages' button is clicked.

Can I add photos to TGTBF.com?
Yes photographs would be a very welcome addition to the TGTBF.com site. The site has upload software built in, but pictures are limited in file size to 80Kb. (a regular photograph defined at 96 pixels per inch and sized a maximum 10cm in either direction should be OK). Jpeg or Gif are our preferred formats. If you try to upload an image larger than 80kb, the TGTBF.com system will not accept it. Pictures are "save" protected to help avoid no unauthorised use of the picture. Pictures can be replaced at any time via the Edit entry system.

Can I add multimedia to TGTBF.com?
Yes within the Premier style package only. Multimedia (Sound or Video) would be a very welcome addition to the TGTBF.com site. The site has upload software built in, but are limited in file size to 2400Kb. Sound (.wav .mp3) video (.avi .mpg .mov) should be OK. The .wav or .avi are our preferred formats. If you try to upload a file larger than 2400kb, the TGTBF.com system will not accept it.

No, Not at the moment on the site. (Deluxe and Premier package entries can add a link to a family page should they wish.)
